Lisa was asked if she would write a paragraph about her impressions of her Hyksos Benjamin filly T'Kaiyah
for use on my web site to promote Ben.

This is what she came back with:

In retrospect, many people tried to steer us in different directions when they discovered that we were thinking of rearing a youngin' from our most favourite mare (Jamar Lodge M'Kaila)......but I knew the first time I saw the Splitters Creek website that Catherine's horses were for me!!! The confirmation, the strong legs, the attitude, the might, the courage.............ALL of it is there............and more!!! It is unmistakeable.

When you comment on 'The Attitude' Catherine, no one could ever claim false advertising!! In fact you can put my name to what ever you would like on the website, because nothing could ever be more glowing to your breeding program, than how I feel about our little mare!! In fact, I feel privileged to now be a part of it.

From day Dot, T'kaiyah has been subjected to all sorts of stupid things- including xmas dressups, baby rides (Aiden was only 6 months old when she was born), being led from the car window on those rainy days. In fact I never did get a photo, but we used to string all 3 horses together and lead them off the car to the arena and back, down a skinny driveway, past waterbuffalo (yes some idiot has them down in freezing VIC)....then subjected to towels over her head- float boots- chaff bags, etc.

Her attitude towards any obstacle is amazing. Thats not to say she can't be a pig a times- but I'm pretty sure she can claim that trait from her mum ;). She is so very soft and delicate in her movement, and if I dare say so, has faultless confirmation. Her leg strength and balance is amazing.........I really need to get some video footage to fully apprecaite her movement.

As you can see in these photos- her patience while having Aiden on her back is just out of this world!! No issues the first time we popped a saddle on (12 months old). The next time we did up the girth and went for a walk- 'whats all the fuss', so on goes Aiden again for a walk aroung the property. Prob 3 months went by and we did it again, slipping M'Kaila's halter bridle on for added effect in the photo :) ..... then on the kid goes again!!! Even had a few trots. Now without a word of a lie, this horse has HONESTLY...NEVER ONCE shied while Aiden/ or any other child has been on her back, regardless of the interuption. Her poise and appreciation for her rider, however small he may be, is incredible- remembering that this horse is not broken and is 12- 18months old!!! CRAZZZZEE).

Her future is nothing but promising. She has to be one the of the easiest horses I have ever handled!!

She loves nothing more to push her way to the front of the line a t the fence to be the first out for a play in the arena or a float trip out... 'ME ME ME ME ME', thankfully she can't talk!!! Obvously most of these traits are not learnt behaviour. This is nothing else than your breeding program at work.

The great Hyksos Benjamin is a marvel!! The first time we met him, we were blown away that we could just wander into his paddock for a leisurely visit.
