Frozen Semen Contract
Breeding season 2004/05
· This agreement is between Catherine McAlpine (stallion owner) of the Splitters Creek ASHS, Stewarts Rd, Walbundrie NSW and (name) __________________________(mare 'owner') of address): ______________________________________________________.
· The frozen semen is from Hyksos Benjamin - registered AHSA purebred Arabian stallion -DNA tested and nominated with AHSA for artificial breeding for the current season.
· The service fee for Hyksos Benjamin is $1100 using frozen semen, and is based on a 'no foal - no fee' policy.
· The service fee includes a $100 non-refundable booking/administration fee. Payment may be made by direct transfer to Commonwealth a/c CA McAlpine 062 500 2800 4179.
· On paying the $100 booking fee, the mare owner is entitled to three doses of frozen semen comprising 8 straws / dose. Unused doses may be used to inseminate additional mare(s). If a pregnancy is achieved a discounted $550 service fee is offered based on the 'no foal - no fee' policy.
· Additional doses can be purchased at $110 per dose.
. Frozen semen cannot be sold to third parties without the express permission of the stallion owner.
· The $1000 service fee balance is due and payable when the resultant foal (if any) is 7 days old. If no pregnancy is achieved or the foal does not live for 7 days, no fee is payable.
· The mare owner agrees to pay all insemination expenses (such as semen transport, mare insemination, mare scanning, agistment, etc).
· The mare owner agrees to research the AHSA requirements for artificial breeding including DNA testing of the mare before insemination, and application for the AHSA Mare AI Insemination permit. The mare owner agrees to pay these expenses.
· The stallion owner will purchase the necessary 'transported / stored semen' service certificate(s), (service certificate).
· Where pregnancy and a 7 day old foal are achieved, the mare owner agrees that the original service certificate will not be provided to the mare owner until the $1000 balance is paid in full.
· The stallion owner will provide a photocopy of the service certificate at the appropriate time.
· The stallion owner will provide the original service certificate if a 7 day old foal is not produced, or a pregnancy not achieved, at the appropriate time.
· The mare owner has read the information on the Splitters Creek website relating to artificial breeding and is aware that artificial breeding can be expensive and not necessarily yield results.
· Where appropriate, the terms of this document can be varied by mutual agreement.
